I am just trying to evaluate if Sony has really got its act together in regard to noise. They always seem to be 2 stops behind Nikon with the same sensors produced by Sony. I wonder why?

Now that's funny. I think you need to learn what a stop is before going any further. Its well documented that the SLT loses 1/3 - 1/2 stop, that's it. Check the DPreview image with Sony sensors in various cameras - using RAW's, its pretty easy to see ... for some at least. Enjoy your D600. I know I'll be enjoying my A99, its quite a step up from the 5d2 I recently sold. Thanks again for another laugh.

p.s. I'm constantly amazed at how many people draw conclusions looking at hastily shot pre-prod JPEG's, with no understanding of the settings or experience with the camera and no RAW support.
