If having to purchase a lens hood is making you upset, say it here

I agree that it's an inconvenience, but this is made out to be a bigger deal than it is. The main complaint I hear isn't that the lens hood isn't included, but that the branded Olympus hoods are expensive. But as others have pointed out, there are cheaper, non-branded hoods that work perfectly fine or perhaps better.

I'm a bit ambivalent on this issue. On the one hand, I don't find it that much of a hassle to include a lens hood in my purchase when I buy a lens, and it allows you to choose the hood that suits you. On the other hand, I think a lens hood should be used in almost all circumstances, and a standard lens hood would probably be cheaper than one bought separately.
