Worth the switch to D300 from D90?

I am finding myself recently more involved in shooting vehicles in action (shooting at tracks & airshows) and i was thinking if D300 is a worth upgrade in this case ( i don't care much about the video option of SLR ) in terms of mainly focus accuracy and speed . i estimated i can probably achieve the switch with a ~ $ 100 cost
