Olympus OMD Neck Strap Ring Removal

Hello,

I just received my new Olympus OMD. Question is. Has anyone had any luck removing the neck strap wire rings. I always prefer to use a wrist strap on my cameras and really hate the way the wire triangular rings flop around on the camera and make noise. Kind of like having a big key chain ring on your belt. Not cool and very noisy.

Thus, I would like to remove them without causing damage to the rubber grip or paint on the camera.

Any suggestions or how to's would be greatly appreciated.
