Transmissive vs. Reflective images

Thanks one and all for the thoughtful feedback. One question comes up: is it possible to have transmissive computer "white" closely match reflective white? From the comments, particularly on the subject of "repro" printing, it seems possible but difficult. Any suggestions on websites that zero in on this very specific topic?
