With the other lenses you have, in particular the 135/2, I think you´d absolutely love a 35/1.4.
That is an exceptionally well designed lens. It gives wonderful sharpness and bokeh.

Thanks for your input but that won't work for me. I personally was never really figure out what to do with the 35mm focal length. I have a 35mm lens for my film body and over the last 25 years I may have used it a dozen times.
I find it two wide for people shots (big noses and all) or anything that involves details. Even fast lenses like the 35 1.4 don't give much of a background blur - and you have to get pretty close to get much at all which increases distortion.
I know - lots and lots of famous and not so famous people are getting excellent results with it. It's just not for me. For wide I prefer 28mm (or wider if warranted). For people shots with context it's 50mm. For head shots it's the 135 or my 200 even. 35 is the most "meh" to me.
I do know that the 35L is the "better" lens and that it is somewhat sharper. ALL fifties have some issues - unfortunately. Which relates directly to my question. But even if it's the sharpest and best built lens in the world I still don't know exactly what to do with the focal length. And just to demonstrate what a weirdo I am: I'd pretty much say the same thing about the 85L. Not interested.
As far as primes go I see a 24L or one of the Zeiss ZE wide angle lenses next (after I finally get a new bike...) And a 90mm tilt shift...
