how to focus in the dark with the E-M5?

If you're dealing with a standard m43 lens that doesn't have a distance scale and an E-M5 that doesn't have any on-screen indicator of focusing distance, how do you focus blindly?

My legacy lenses with a focus scale and my GH2 with a (somewhat primative) distance indicator would work just fine for blind manual focusing, but an E-M5 with a new Pany 12-35... I can't find any way to see my focusing distance. Am I missing something?
