D800 pictures look flat

I am a wedding photographer & my pictures with the D800 look flat, the blacks seem dull & the whites rarely go to the edge of the histogram. They can be corrected in Lightroom but I was wondering if I should be changing any settings. I shot in JPEG (don't be a hater) normally asa 400 for outside shots & 800-1600 inside. White balance Auto1, picture control is Neutral.

Any constructive advice would be appreciated.
