I too find no offense at the non-profanity mentioned earlier.

EXPERIENCE! The digital artists that make it look easy (and good) have done that particular task 100's or 1,000's of times before the example that impresses you. Also preparation - the shots are lit with care, photographed many times and the artist selects the best possible exposures for the compositing job ahead. The best results in photoshop begin before the shutter is even pressed.
