He was using a TTL cord from the camera to the flash. Run a cord from the Pocket Wizard Velcroed to the top of the flash to the PC terminal on the flash. When you press the shutter, the TTL cord running to the flash causes the flash to fire. When the flash fires a signal is sent from the cord attached to its PC socket to the Pocket Wizard causing the PW to fire. The PW will then send a signal to other PW's causing them to fire. I do it all the time.
