A servo uses a feedback loop to achieve and maintain its position. That doesn't mean that a feedback system is being used to tell the servo where to go in the first place. Anyone who's operated RC models knows that.

So if there is no feedback how does the system know where to go in the first place. It must look at the error created by moving the system one way or another. The correct way reduces the error. The wrong way increases the error. How do you classify the continuous auto focus system if there is no feedback?

For your example the feedback is the eyes of the person holding the remote control. If you push the stick in the wrong direction your eyes see the error and your hand makes the correction to the stick. The human is in the feedback loop.
