Time to upgrade 17-40/4 USM L

It seems that affordable wide angle is Achilles heel for 6D. Six years old 17-40/4 USM L doesn't look like significant upgrade for Canon 10-22, Tokina 11-16 or Sigma 12-24/10-20/8-16. Also new Tokina 17-35/4 was a little failure after successful 11-16. Lack of affordable "excellent" wide-angle will probably influence 6D sales. Something like affordable 17-35 f/2.8-4 would be spot on with 6D low light capabilities.
