Simple flower pic : macro using A12 50

Still learning how to shoot macro with A12 50, I have not used macro lens on my canon camera, neither have I used macro features on other compact cameras. The dof gets very shallow and I am still getting used to it. C&C welcome, also would appreciate if someone can share interesting macro photography sites or techniques using A12 50.
