Sony RX100 Vs Nikon DSLR (First time Sony user)

First time Sony user. I have just bought it for about 1 week. I must say I am impressed with its photo quality but hate the UI. I get so confused when reviewing videos and photos. In particular the videos, it just continues to play one after another without stopping unless I intervent. No other cameras I have used do that!

A test shot I took on last Sat(22 Sep) at Tower Bridge, London
The RAW file was converted with Sony's RAW converter and photoshop adjusted

The same scene taken with Nikon D700. It is still no match to Nikon's DSLR in terms of colour and general look. However, it DOES seem to resolve more details than the D700. The 20MP is real at least on low ISO (the same cannot be said for some of the phone camera...).
