RX100 5-10 sec to shoot a BW photo? WTF? RX100 vs Fuji X10

Thanks to all those who provide constructive help. To those who keep reposting RTFM, get a life. I've owned dozens of cameras. I even owned another Sony until a few months ago.

The RX100 is supposed to be a prosumer camera, a photographer's compact etc.

As such it should offer a lot of manual control and it does but it's buried deep inside menus which make it unusable for anything except certain kinds of photography. The function button is DUMB as it shows the same choices among all modes even though these functions aren't available in all modes.

A smarter Function button would be context sensitive and it would show options relevant to that mode. The Panorama mode, and the Panorama mode ONLY should have the Panorama options. Intelligence mode shouldn't show ISO, AWB if they are not modifiable in that mode etc.
