GRD4 only good for grainy B&W?

which is the look i mostly see with streetshooting shots with the GRD4.

I'm interested in the camera, but wondering about versatility, specifically clean,

detailed b&w. I don't care for the jpg. color, but wouldn't buy it for that, as I have a Fuji X10.
Is noise just inherent to this camera?
