Michael Reichmann does it again
Jan 25, 2003

I imagine this article will stir up another hornet's nest of controversy:

He compares his 1Ds images to his Pentax 67 images and ends the article with "Goodbye film. Goodbye medium format."

It was his articles about the D30 & D60 that convinced me to get off the fence and get one. I'd wanted a DSLR ever since seeing a Kodak DCS at a tradeshow several years ago. It was way out of my league price-wise, and the image quality still wasn't any better overall than 35mm- so I'd put the thought on the back burner until the price came down and the quality came up. Then about a year or so ago, I started looking around again and evaluating the stable of offerings from the big players. It was Michael Reichmann's articles that convinced me the quality had arrived. I'd always been partial to Nikon, so I was initially drawn to the D100, but its unavailability at the time led me to take a closer look at what Canon had to offer. Again, it was Michael's praises of the Canons, together with those sung on this board, that led me change loyalties. And I haven't looked back.

PS- I also just discovered that he has message boards- are they new?
