Did anyone ever get the product mentioned here (Columbus V-990)? I would like to know your experience with it before I order one. I see it can be used with a Mac; can it log to Raw files, or only jpegs? I shoot Raw only. What about the battery life, and reception?

Any number of devices will let you create tracking that can be matched to Raw files but not write it to the file's metadata. Some programs will let you create/edit .xmp "sidecar" files that can store changes to metadata. I use Lightroom 4

on my Windows 7 machine to match .gpx tracks downloaded from my Garmin ETrex Vista HCx handheld GPS device. It adds about two or three minutes to my processing time per session. I think workflow in Aperture may be similar.
