I do like the focal length of this lens, and I like the size. But those who have tested it have come to the conclusion that it gets unsharp towards the edges. What do the owners say?

The consensus seems to be that the 18 f2 is not as good as the other two, but if you look at the Lenstip Imatest chart / resolution test, the 18 f2 nearly reaches the lever of the 35 1.4 in the center (where the 35 1.4 reaches 65 lpmm at it's sharpest aperture, the 18 f2 reaches 62 lpmm at it's sharpest). And it's only wide open that the corners don't reach Lenstip's "decency" level, but by f2.8 the 18 is reaches 40 lpmm just like the 35 1.4. So it's not like the 18 f2 is a dog, it just exhibits wide open behavior regarding the corners similar to most fast wides, and to most pancake lenses.
