MBP has died-help needed

Hallo all.
Well, it's true. My 15# 3.06 mid-2009 MBP has died. Tragic as I had recently maxed the Ram and fitted an SSD to it. Aside from this the unit still had 1 month Applecare on it but Apple Germany has declined to replace the logic board on the grounds of a ding being present in the upper corner of the monitor case.
Unfortunately a local computer repair shop is unable to find the fault on the board (will not boot, has nil function). And this, a result of opening a multitude of programs and the unit becoming temporarily warm before switching permanently off.
So am wondering if anyone can point me to a reliable source of obtaining a replacement logic board.
