A77 Poor low light Video compared to Nikon and Canon?

It's kinda silly for Nikon to lock the video to P-mode as the d5100 has the best low light performance among the mid-level APS-C compared to Canon's 650d and Sony's SLTs (according to dxomark). I've read that they have likewise crippled the d600 with no manual video controls, that's really unfortunate as it would have been the cheapest FF with clean HDMI out.
