iCloud email went offline after 10.8.2 update...

My iCloud email is offline after installing 10.8.2. It seems to be the outgoing mail server that goes offline. I did everything I logically could to resolve the situation: removed the account from the mail program then reinstalled it, checked all settings more than once–keeps going offline. iCloud mail works on my other computer (didn't happen on that computer which was also updated to 10.8.2), iPhone and iPad, but not on the one I need in on the most.

Any help would be much appreciated.
