If you consider the 6D as a full frame entry camera for Canon cropped sensor users to move to, Canon will loose a ton of market share. Users moving up will have to start over with lenses and at that point many will consider the D600 since it will most likely smoke the 6D in image quality and features. Canon will have to accept razor thin margins to compete, probably at the $1500 price point. By then Nikon will have achieved the economy of volume necessary lower their price but maintain a slight premium. The lack of backwards compatibility with EF-S lenses is simply unbelievable. IMHO, the battle is already over.

Disclaimer: I own a D600 and was shooting today with a 50mm f.14 I bought in 1969.
