D600 real flash sync speed?

Has anyone tried the D600 with PocketWizards that allow disabling of "High Speed Sync" (the pulsing kind) to see exactly how fast the D600's shutter can sync with Nikon flashes? I'm wondering if the low sync speed is just a marketing limitation and it actually can sync at 1/250 or 1/320 if that limitation could be overridden?
