Don't lose sight of image stabilization

I went the LA-EA2 route and bought a Tamron 70-300 planning to use it on my NEX7. Since it is an A mount lens and the A mount cameras have IBIS Tamron did not include image stabilization on the Sony mount Tamron lens which means no image stabilization at all with my combo. Sony really screwed things up by putting image stabilization in the A series but making the NEX without it, requiring that the lenses each have stabilization built in. I ended up buying an A57 to use with the telephoto. In short, there is no long telephoto, zoom or otherwise, that can be used with the NEX series without using a tripod virtually under all circumstances. The A57 is a nice camera by the way. Not too heavy for its type.
