Try an EOS 3's AF (even with its 45 point system, circa 1998) in the field against a more current autofocus system and then tell us which actually offers better performance. Things have moved on quite a bit but some people naïvely just assume more points are better, rather than how well the system works.

Both are important, number of points and how well each point works (weighting depends on what you actually shoot).

The EOS 3 was as good as a camera could be at the time; the 6D is maybe 50% that measured by today's standards.

But let's wait and see it in reality.
