Re: My list
In reply to Horshack, 8 months ago

great list ! I picked a few of yours and added mine

  • assign ok button on D600 and D7000 for 100% focus point preview like D800, D700 etc (for me, a deal breaker for D600 upgrade)

  • Focus peaking : very helpfull for manual focusing

  • allow aperture control in live view for everyone, not only high end cameras

  • assign any button to any function (ex: zoom in-out with the command dial)

  • AF tune values at different focal lengths for zoom lenses. Support for multi-copy AF tune (S/N based ala 5DM3/1DX)

  • focus trap for all

  • choices for less compressed videos (50mbps or more)

  • Raw-based histograms

  • Reassign any button to be ISO

  • Option to turn off LV exposure preview for manual mode

  • Option to not automatically stop down the aperture in LV

  • Re-enable focus priority/trap focus for back-button focusing ("broken" on D800/D4)

  • RGB histogram in LV

  • Keep LV magnification available during movie recording (for manual focusing)

  • Smarter use of dual CF/SD cards to support deeper buffers (option to alternate between cards for each shot to produce 2x throughput and thus increase effective buffer capacity)

  • Support WB setting on images that are completely clipped (UniWB), like Canon supports

  • Features to facilitate ISOless shooting, such as auto-exposure-gain when previewing raws that are "underexposed" as part of ISOless shooting

  • Motion-triggered shutter actuation

  • On-screen focus distance indicator (LV at least, but VF would be even better)

  • Averaging mode for multiple exposures (for noise reduction), including raw file support (ala 5DM3/1DX)

  • Multi-shot "best shot" mode for low-shutter speed shooting

  • Open source and/or support for plug-ins/3rd-party apps

  • Timed exposures longer than 30s
