Selecting multiple or all points is a crap shoot - the camera can't read your mind and will focus on the ground or some other random object.

I guess this is surely the reason why such an AF and such options were included in 1D bodies exclusively. Canon has been hiding the crap shoot from the majority of users all the time!

When taking pictures of birds in flight, the using all points could be useful since it's hard to nail the small center AF point on a fast moving bird. Otherwise, I never use multiple AF sensors.
