Canon Executive explains why 6D has only one X point

In 1998 Canon introduced the EOS 3 with a 45 point "area AF" for the equivalent of 1000 Euro.

In 2013, 15 years later, EOS 6D will hit the street for 2000 Euro and the 45 point AF has still not "trickled down"?

No marketing talk can justify that.
