Canon just needed to put 4 additional cross-points on a 5Dmk2. Maybe improve low-light a little bit, but not to -3EV. That's it.
And they could remove non cross points (to make it 5 Cross-AF only).

On a 60D, they just should put new (a that time) 18 MP sensor into 50D body.

But they removed AF MA, removed joystick (put that small mushy joy-wheel), cut LCD display, made stupid button on the mode wheel.

5Dmk3 is just far too expenive. It is actually mk2 with new AF.

mk2 cost $2500 on release, mk3 - a thousand $ more. So it is not an "next version" or "upgrade". So Canon position it as a new model, at new pricing.

Considering new Nikon and Sony models and their prices, Canon's pricing is far beyond the reality.

Life is good, it is just Canon makes BS lately.

It is illuminating to learn all the things Canon should do. One wonders how they manage without your advice.
