please lens advise,Sigma 17-70 mm F2,8-4,0 DC Makro OS HSM

did somebody try Sigma 17-70 mm F2,8-4,0 DC Makro OS HSM?

I am planning to buy it and use with my d3100, will be using it as general zoom lens with fast aperture, and it has macro capabilities.

did somebody already did try its macro capabilities?
how do you rate its performance consider the price tag?

could not find a clear review on that lens so thats why I am posting here.
