Not wanting to lead you to the D600, I will tell you in full honestly from your perspective the situation with the Nikon D600.

1) The Nikon D600 is designed to be lighter and smaller than any full frame camera. Therefore, it should be good for you. But remember that the GH3 is not a full frame camera. You know that, I am sure.

2) You want excellent image quality apparently, both in video and still pictures.

Well, the sensor in the Nikon D600 produces the best image quality available today along with the Nikon D800 and compared to ANY other camera on the market!! It is pretty amazing for a full frame camera at this low price.

Read "DxO scores are in..." at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1021&thread=42535983

Conclusion:
You should be very happy if you decide to choose the Nikon D600.

Just decide if you want the image quality that a full frame sensor provides or not.
