Aperture painfully slow

Make sure nothing else is running on your computer at the same time you are running Aperture. You might need more RAM which is not too expensive to do. You also might want to get a FW800 external Hard Drive. It is much faster than USB!

Aperture speed is really increased with a Fast graphics card! A new iMac would be what I would suggest for you. DO NOT buy one now! New iMacs should be out from Apple before Christmas. Save some money between now and then.

You might want to turn off Previews in Aperture and see if that helps!!! Making Previews really slows down your machine. I only make previews for Projects that I am using iPhoto or iMovie with! Hope this helps!
