not more demanding on lenses

Each crop of the multi aspect sensor yields the same diagonal, and thus the same demand of the lens.

So 16x9, 3x2 and 4x3 all have the same demand on the lens at the actual corner, with 4x3 being the most square placing the greatest demand on the lens on a weighted average basis.

What is going on?

In a sentence:

Superb idea not widely understood or acknowledged in the marketplace and therefore eliminated due to poor return on manufacture cost.

Superb idea but more demanding on lenses : rather than improve edge resolution, eliminate MAR.
