D600 AF left or right issues...

The sad fact is that you are correct. I have seen it with several posts on the D800. Has there been an issue with a small amount of the D800's sold, yes. Has it been drastically magnified by posters on the internet? I would bet on it.

The location I bought my D800 from has mentioned that they have had a small amount they had to return with focus issues, but a very low amount. I am considering picking up one of the D800E's they have in stock. Though a D600 for travel and shooting from my kayak might be a consideration too.
