I have to day I was impressed with all the accessories etc that make it a camera you can use easily in the studio or on the streets...

BTW, Jim you do not need a Leica... Even if someone gives you a potato to use, you will still take great pictures with it somehow!

Thanks, kind of you to say. Had my M8 had the capabilities of the new M I would not have parted with it. Versatility is very important to me.

I know many Leicaphiles will not like the new M because of what is perceived as unnecessary gee-gaws (undesired features) like video, focus peaking, live view, etc.. but there are many of us who do appreciate these new features and know how they will come in handy... as I said, versatility is very important to me. Had the new M been pretty much the same as the old M I would have no interest in it at all.

I have always said that I am a fan and a critic of Leica. All things considered (with the new M) I have nothing to criticize except my inability to afford one.

I am sure many here remember Stovall... he must be rolling over in his grave regarding this New M.

People who complain because the M has too many features are morons not photographers. I am complaining that it is lacking an absolutely fundamental feature, a top-plate mounted exp.comp. dial.

Anyone who moans about it having video who doesn't mention the lack of that dial is NOT a photographer.

The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear used to capture it.
