Ice Hockey Photography Gear Questions

I tried shooting some this weekend with auto ISO on and the pictures turned out a little too dark unfortunately. Shot in manual with f2.8 and ss 1/500. Plan to set the ISO to 1600 next time and hopefully it will minimize my PP.

D7K with the 70-200 VR2 lens.
