D600 a better choice if only owning one DSLR?
Sep 17, 2012

I"ve been looking at the D800 and now the D600. The D600 looks like a great all around camera and of course the D800 is a great camera, but at a much higher price to boot. For a one-camera solution, would the D600 due to its smaller size and weight be better if just owning one DSLR? I have the D300 now, but am thinking about moving to FX for additional resolution unless Nikon decides to replace the D300 somedy, which looks more and more unlikely. I shoot mainly landscapes, sell some, but also use my DSLR for travel and everyday shooting. I know many photographers seem to have a larger camera for "serious" work then a smaller model for travel, but that seems like it would add too much complication deciding which camera to take or not to take. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on this? Thanks.
