7D and 10-22 versus 5D3 and 16-35II for small prints
Sep 17, 2012

Question for opinions: I do have a 5D2 and various non-zoom L lenses. For my paid work I actually mostly use an old 30D and even older XT for backup. I shoot crime scenes and most often use the 10-22 with the 60 macro on the backup camera for views of door locks, signs, and similar things. I usually print 5x7 without cropping, but sometimes a small amount of cropping. (This is not including that I usually crop one or both outside edges to fit the 5x7.) The biggest I ever have to print is 7.333 inches by 11 inches on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. My question is: would a 5D3 and 16-35 MM L-II be very much better for my relatively small print use if I upgrade my 30D to a 7D? I would rather spend $1,500 than $5,000.
