Hey Flashlight,

You got me thinking, and I realised that there was one variable I hadn't removed from the equation: my USB hub. I plugged the camera directly into the computer, problem solved (the hub must've gone bad in some way, as I'd used it when shooting the D700 tethered).

I know that the cables are good (tested on other equipment), which means the port in the camera is bad, and that's really bad (I've never used the port before, and bought the camera new). I will wiggle, thanks for the tip.
