Sensor Size and Wide Angle Lenses
|
Hi Everyone,
It seems that if one wants a wide angle zoom lensed compact camera with a sensor size larger than the 1/1.7, then one has to be restrictd to 28mm at the wide angle end of the focal length range.
I like to have a zoom lens extending to 24mm at the wide angle end, as in the Panasonic LX7, but would also aprreciate a large sensor. I appreciate that this would need a physically larger lens barrel, but how much larger, and is this the problem?
I would not mind if the maximum apertute had to be restricted somewhat to reduce the physical size of the lens barrel of a larger sensor camera.
Am I expecting too much and if so, why?
Best Wishes,
John
