In the case of the RX100 this case adds barely any additional bulk.

However, this is probably not true of the cheaper knock offs, as I have found in the past that whenever I have purchased the cheaper china-made knock offs, they have often been ill fitting when compared to the Sony version (even though they were made with "genuine leather"), and ultimately a waste of money.

These kinds of cases add too much weight and volume for my taste. I use a Green Onions Microfiber Case: http://www.amazon.com/Green-Onions-Supply-Japanese-Micro-Fiber/dp/B001BYEP6E?ie=UTF8&tag=thstsst-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957 , which offers a little bit of protection from the rough seas of my pockets while still being very light and easy to remove.
