My 5n has let me down big time!

Mine failed a few weeks ago. It turned on, but just showed the live picture with no display information. None of the buttons worked and the only way to turn it off was to remove the battery. It's 6 months old, so I returned it to Sony UK who were brilliant and it came back two weeks later completely sorted. No idea what they did other than when I rang to enquire progress, they said they had been waiting for a part to come in,so it must have been fairly major. The Despatch Note said 'Flexible Block Assembly' and 'Mounted C.Board, SY-2' if it's any help?
