Can't Afford the 7000, what's the Next BEST Thing to Consider??

Hey all,

One more question on the 7000. I really like that camera. I have some experience with the 3100 and when I handled the 7000, it was like night and day. The 7000 was bigger and the grip fit my hand perfectly and the solid feel of the body was just great. It felt like you had a REAL piece good equipment in your hands. The 3100 is nice, but not in the league of the 7000. Then the sound of the shutter was also impressive.

Unfortunately right now my eyes are larger than my bank account and the 7000 is something I can't afford right now. I am looking for what would be a good alternative. Is there any other body out there that has the feel of the 7000 that I talked about? I would also consider other makers as well if the features are there.

If there isn't anything close to the 7000, I am thinking about a Bridge like the Coolpix 510 or the Panasonic FZ200.

Would I be better off getting that bridge camera now and waiting until I can afford the 7000 or look for a DSLR that is close to it?
