Yes, but 70-200mm f2.8 are huge bulky lenses to cart around. If you wanted a two lens walkabout setup that covered 90% of everyday scenarios, then you could do far worse than a 16-50mm f2.8 combined with a 50-150mm f2.8... certainly on APS-C. If Tamron made one, then I'd buy it!
