In regards to your comment of taken a big quantiy of photos, I find hard getting rid of the inhibition of shooting. I feel a bit insecure of taking photos of people in the street, I don't want to make them feel uncomfortable, invaded or afraid. This also applies to posting them, I don't know exactly where the limit is.
The limits yours and its based on how much you want 'that' photograph. If you are a bit insecure then you wont get much. Think about a picture that you didn't get, do you regret it, were you angry at yourself ...now turn that around and use it as your energy.
Watch a scene for a while, no camera. Did you see something that you would have liked. Watch some more and maybe some more until you know you dont want to miss a chance like that again.
Deep breath ...dive in.
