I don't know what buttons you have to press or dials you rotate to get into Focus Peaking and Focus Magnification mode, but you gotta do something. My point is that the acuity of the human eye, combined with the brightness and clarity of a decent OVF, such as found in the A900, makes these modes unnecessary as you can see clearly enough in the viewfinder to get critically accurate focus. This is something that you can't expect to do with a 2.4Mp EVF, which is why you need Focus Peaking etc, and why you need some extra button pushes, or whatever, to be able to judge focus accurately.

You don't have to press ANYTHING with Focus Peaking. The color indicator automatically appears when you're in manual focus mode.

So, if you're in AF mode and want to know if the camera's got the focus right?
