Linear polarization is all you need for cameras with only contrast detection autofocus.
I'm not sure about newer (non-m43) mirrorless cameras with on sensor phase detection autofocus.
That said, its very hard to find any linear polarizers with anti-reflective multicoating and high transmission. That's why I went with a circular polarizer.
