From 4+ minutes to 1
Now i'll start tuning the start up
The external WD hard drive was the culprit. I just never looked at everything external plugged in as a potential issue, learn something new every day.
Knowing that, I'll remove some other external devices, I keep a card in the HP all in one but know it reads it at boot, was helpful but as easy to put in when needed.
In a few days I'll let you know where it all stands
Fwiw disconnecting/connecting the Hitachis made no difference at all even though one has the old OS on it. May keep it in as a backup boot drive or pull it, I have an
e-sata toaster that I can slip it into if needed.
Also the BIOS update I did as part of this seems to have fixed the flakey boot issue and it should resolve the odd USB 3 issue I occasionally get with a card reader. (per gigabyte the f10 Bios solves both)
Well I'm definitely on the road now.
Thanks all !!!
Bill
