Another (Meike) underwater housing question

In the past I used to dive with a DSLR in the EWA-Marine housing (until it leaked).

EWA-Marine always recommends to have a rather large pack of silica gel in the housing during the dive.

Now in the manual for Meike (NEX) housing I didn't find a word about it. What's your experience, is silica gel needed? Intuitively - even more so for NEX than for a DSLR - it should emit more heat because of overused LCD and sensor.
